Korean skincare routine, step by step
The Korean skincare routine has a reputation for being endless – the famous 10 steps. In reality it’s built on one simple idea: gentle steps, in the right order, repeated every day. Here they are, from the essential to the optional.
1. The double cleanse (evening)
First, an oil-based cleanser such as The Calm Balm cleansing balm, massaged onto dry skin to melt away makeup and sunscreen. Then a water-based foam like The Bubble Double for a clean finish. In the morning, the foam on its own will do. See every Korean cleanser.
2. Toner, mist or essence
These get the skin ready for what follows. A hydrating face mist gives a fresh boost, gentle exfoliating pads refine the look of skin texture a few times a week, and an essence gives the next steps a head start. Browse our Korean toners and essences.
3. Serum
The most concentrated step, chosen for your skin’s needs: hydration and a more even-looking tone, pores and blemishes, radiance or first signs of ageing. A few drops are enough. Browse our Korean serums.
4. Moisturiser
It locks the hydration in. A rich texture for dry skin, a light oil-free one for combination to oily skin. In the evening, an overnight mask can take its place. Browse our Korean moisturisers.
5. Sunscreen (morning)
The last step, every morning, even on a cloudy day in town: a mineral sun cream, plus a sunscreen stick for top-ups. Browse our Korean sunscreen.
Bonus: masks and patches
One to three times a week, a sheet mask or a pair of eye patches turns your routine into a proper break. Browse our Korean face masks.
